We are a group of Regenerated Believers, who seek to win those that are lost and to bring discipleship to those that have been found. Our purpose is to impact them so they might impact the world for Christ. We believe this is done through our core beliefs, the Word of God, the Worship of God, and the Fellowship amongst Believers.
Church History
Elder Roosevelt Lakey Sr. along with his wife, Vera Lakey, heeded the call to Pastor a congregation in the Los Angeles area. He started what would be known as the Prayer House COGIC, and began holding services in a local mortuary. In 1977, the church moved to 79th & Hoover and united with the members of the Christ Centered Church; this was a small, yet powerful and growing group with a mission to add souls to the body of Christ.
On July 2, 1978, Pastor Roosevelt Lakey, Sr. was called to rest and reward. His leadership and love for God’s people are an inspiration to our church, the foundation of which he laid. In 1978, his eldest son, Elder Larry Lakey, stepped into the role of Senior Pastor. As a man sound in the word, he continued building a ministry of Believers who loved the Bible, God’s presence, and His people.
After 30 years of exemplary leadership, Pastor Lakey retired from the role of Senior Pastor, and Elder Phillip White took on the senior leadership role. As the Regenerated Church, we continue to press forward seeking to play a part in the believer’s full maturity and God given destiny.
